iOS 18 Disable Video Looping in Photos App?

Me too the same suggestion. It must be avoid.

TY! One of the most annoying things ever! WTH are they thinking? So bad. Why change this without the user consent, then give no way to change back. Such a poor poor decision.

I just got the iPhone 16 pro max and can’t Disable Video Looping in the Photos App.

why did you break this with the latest update?

OMG yes! If I could find a way to uninstall 18 I would do it for the video looping feature alone. It’s annoying and totally unnecessary!

I would prefer if there were a setting in photos settings that could enable or disable it similar to the “Auto-Play Motion” setting in photos settings.

That way people who like it can keep it and those who don’t can disable it.

Judd told you Apple said leave a comment so maybe they’ll change it back? That is ridiculous. Who made the decision to have our videos on a constant loop? Good Lord!

I found another way since I had trouble saving multiple videos to file, I can save them to notes, as well. No looping.

I’m there are other places as well, maybe Dropbox?

Yes. Please turn off auto looping. It’s annoying. Also make video audio an option based on volume buttons. Not silence vs ringer being on.

Just ran into the same thing. I went to play a quick video of my daughter and it won’t stop looping. This is so irritating. I thought for sure there was a button in settings… 😡

I hate the looping video. I hate the teeny tiny display that I cannot see. (What happened to Apple’s ADA compliance team?) I hate the duplicate notifications of “comments” on shared photos. What an annoying mess this is. Constantly drawing my attention to this program makes me hate Apple. And I have used it since the beginning. Please restore some semblance of simplicity.

Why are you telling us? We can't do anything about it. Tell Apple using the Feedback link already provided.

Personally, I like the new version of Photos and find it much more user friendly. I'm not alone.

There are thousands of features that are “forced on users”, starting with the very first iPhone, which had thousands of features never before seen on a cell phone. Virtually every function an iPhone has (or an Android phone, for that matter) was “forced on users”.

And the simple solution is to hit the pause button when it restarts.

I requested this auto looping be disabled or provide an option for the user to turn it off. If you are annoyed also please make a request here directly to Apple. Feedback - Photos - Apple
