Since upgrading to 15.0 (24A335) Pages is no longer opening Word documents.
Upon opening a document, Pages just hangs

You are right about the issue (found it on "Console")
But not the proper way to fix it.
You should try:
/System/Library/Frameworks/CoreServices.framework/Versions/A/Frameworks/LaunchServices.framework/Versions/A/Support/lsregister -kill -r -domain local -domain system -domain user
sudo /System/Library/Frameworks/CoreServices.framework/Frameworks/LaunchServices.framework/Support/lsregister -kill -seed -lint -r -f -v -dump -domain local -domain system -domain user -domain network
killall Dock

Yup. I have just rebooted and everything works fine.
You found on "Console" a lot of similar issues:
They are all related to com.apple.launchservices

14.2 wasn't available to me at the time of my post. I updated minutes ago and Pages still hangs on word documents for me. I might attempt a reinstall next
I have never had a Word document that I opened in any version of Pages on any version of macOS be blocked for security purposes. Are you using any anti-virus application?
Are you sure ? Check System settings, all fine ? How about after a reboot ?
Interesting : I also tried this and it failed (upon reboot). I therefore downgraded. Would quicklook work (space bar once on the docx file is selected) ? Thanks !

Have you uninstalled the original app? It was Viber for me.
oh I see, and never installed back? I’ve uninstalled temporarily Skype and Viber but then I put them back.
Yup. It has been a great fortune that it was the Viber
looks like that beside the below solutions/reset for me it was needed also to disable icloud sync for Viber from the connected iphone on the same Apple ID.
