Can’t change songs on car after updating to IOS 18

I was on the IOS 18 Beta previously, and on my BMW I was able to change the song playing using buttons on the steering wheel.

since yesterday after updating to IOS 18( even though I was on the 18 beta for a couple of months now)

I can’t change songs.

i can still scroll up through songs using the wheel, but when I click on the button to change the song, it says it’s changed but nothing happens. Originally I thought it may be a car issue but I noticed it only happened after updating.

did anyone else experience this with past versions?
