I found the correct ports on the studio , and I am not using any hubs. It is the ONLY USB item on the Studio. Everything else is USB-C
Any help that could be offered will be a miracle.

Only Mounted Volumes can appear on the desktop, NEVER empty drives.
The next most common problem with this drive is shortage of USB power.
you can use menu > about this Mac > (System Report) ...
