I want to map MIDI controller to some functions, such as play/pause and go to next/previous marker.
I understand that Logic Pro iPad doesn’t support this out of the box, I’m trying to user app Surface Builder to send MIDI messages/notes to trigger these actions. But I can’t find documentation on which midi notes correspond to these global transport controls.
Any help is appreciated

Do a search in the User Guide on ‘MIDI CC’ (no quotes) and you’ll find the following section of info: “Assign a MIDI event to a plug-in parameter”.
For additional MIDI mapping info, do a search in the User Guide on ‘Learn MIDI’, in that order.
NOTE: A search on ‘MIDI Learn’ comes up empty.
I’m just getting back into LP myself, so that’s all the info I can offer, at this time.

There are no MIDI CC messages which control Transport controls.
Transport controls either need the programmability built-in, such as in AUM, or, the Host app must provide a Controller preset, and they’re usually for keyboard or pad controllers.
