I bought two iPhone 16 Pro Max tonight on apple.com, and while my credit card was charged once during the process, Apple charged me again for the same amount after a few hours. What should I do? I called the bank, and they said Apple has had this problem in the past when the new iPhones start to preorder every year. And I saw online that they have had the same issue in the past few years.

Same thing happened to me. Apple support told me to wait 5 business days. My account is overdrafted!!!
If there is an issue, it will usually reverse on its own. Give it a couple days, especially since today is preorder day and their systems are surely overwhelmed.
One may just be a hold/pending that will release within a couple of days. The second charge is probably the actual charge if they have prepped it for shipping and printed the label.
