Final Cut Pro - Before and After View when editing a video

Hi,

I mainly edit photos so video editing is pretty new to me. I use Lightroom for most edits and when I press the \ (Backslash) key I can see my photo before I applied any edits to it. It's great for comparing the raw image to the edited image.

I want to compare the raw video with the edited one quickly to see what progress, if any, I am making to the video.

Is there a way of doing this with a video in FCPX?

Go into the Effects Inspector by clicking on the filmstrip icon in the Inspector column, then click the check mark on Effects to toggle off all (active) effects. Click it again to turn them back on (which ones turn back on depend on the ones you already had on when you toggle Effects.) In the example below, you will see that "Motion Blur 16-180" is already turned off (inactive) while other effects are on.
