Garageband to Logic Pro

Hi!

I've been using Garageband for some years now and I think that I'm ready to take the step to Logic Pro. Two questions...

  1. Are GB files 100% compatible with Logic (i.e. can I open/import the files without losing anything)?
  2. What happens to settings on individual tracks? If I understand things right Logic works with buses and preferably one common bus for all settings, plugins etc.

Best!

Found another page... Logic Pro for Mac - Free Trial - Apple, so I shall give it a try.

Anyone else who cares to answer these questions?

Concerning my questions, I found this:

"Stepping up from GarageBand to the professional features of Logic Pro is one of the smoothest transitions you’ll ever make. For starters, you’re greeted with a familiar interface. And your GarageBand projects from Mac, iPhone or iPad open in Logic Pro exactly as you left them. When you’re ready, turn on more advanced features. Here are just a few incredible tools and instruments you’ll find in Logic Pro."

I suppose that the answer is "Yes" to the first question. As for the second one, would it be tricky to move all individual settings, plugins etc. to one single/common bus?

Please note that I'm a newbie on this, so bear with my ignorance.

What makes you think of that? As long as the plugins are compatible to the most recent Logic version, it should work. And if you don't enable "complete Features", a Logic project looks almost like a garageband project.

It seems, you haven't been successful with downloading the trial version. You can contact apple support in sweden:
