in one of the projects on one of the tracks I managed to work out the perfect plugin and EQ settings for the sound source used. is there any way to transfer these settings to the next project without the tedious setup of everything again?

I have never seen any way to do it. You could of course save the project as a "template" of sorts, and just re-record the tracks.
