Paste data from Google Sheets (web) to Numbers defaults to .LastResort font and makes all characters look scrambled. Changing the font fixes it, but that's just an annoying unnecessary step. Paste the same data to Excel and Libre Calc creates no such problem.

What happens if you use Paste and Match Style instead of the normal Paste? It is in the Edit menu.
It does work, thank you! However, I think that's still a very strange behavior. It wasn't like that before. That behavior would confuse many beginners, I believe.
