Popup saying "Device Added to Your Account" displayed on my MacBook post updating macOS.

I updated my MacBook Pro M2 Max 2023 to macOS 14.6.1 and this alert popped up on it and on my iPhone:

"A" Mac? Which Mac? I would like to identify which device this is referring to so I can figure out if I recognize it and decide if I want to remove it in System Settings.

I went to System Settings / Apple ID. Is the popup message asking me to look under "Devices" to see if there's a device listed that I don't recognize? Or am I supposed to be looking somewhere else.

This popup message is very unclear. Someone else posted the exact same question over a year ago: "What device? How do I recognise it?":

Indeed it is. You'll get this message whenever you login or logout of any Apple iCloud service. You'll also get it whenever you upgrade the OS on a device. Ironically enough, the event that is least likely to trigger this notification is adding a new device to your account. 😄

The popup is confusing in saying a device has been "added" to my account. It makes it sound like a warning that a new, unauthorized user is accessing my account, when it's actually because I just updated the OS on my MacBook.

When a new Device or Exiting upgraded device is added to OR Alerts to having been added to My Apple ID

It does have access to your Mailing Address, Phone number(s) , Account Recovery email / phone number, Date of Birth, 2FA setting and most important your Payment Methods ( Debit Card, Credit Card ) Information

As @ Chattanoogan has mentioned, better the err on the side of Caution rather than Not to Alert the user and have all that info stolen

Agreed. Unfortunately a lot of Apple error messages & notifications are extremely vague & confusing these days. It is definitely very frustrating especially for something so critical. In fact earlier today I spent a long time trying to find out why the Apple forum was preventing me from submitting a post.....after much wasted time I discovered I was missing a single character in a word which ended up making it a prohibited word (I almost gave up on submitting my post, but I had taken a lot of time writing it).....why Apple why!?

Apple is not the only company providing such vague & confusing alerts....seems to be the new norm for whatever reason.
