New iPhone 15 Pro connects to home wifi but chooses to keep using 5G instead. How to fix?

New iPhone 15 Pro connects successfully to our home wifi. Also our 5G connectivity is fine. But around the house, even though it shows that it is connected to full-strength wifi, the phone shows 5G as the network that is chooses to utilize. I'm fairly sure I'm on 5G, as things don't load as quick as wifi. My son's phone, also new, does not have this problem, and shows that the wifi is the network of choice.

I've already powered down and on again, reset the network settings and reconnected to wifi. But still the phone choses to use 5G while I'm sitting right next to the wifi router. How can I fix this?

iPhone 15, iOS 17

OK, weirdly enough it finally started using the wifi while I was on the chat with a support person. We didn't do anything in particular to fix it that I hadn't already done. We reset the network settings once more. He asked me if I had a VPN on the phone. I told him that there was Tunnelbear, but it was not being used or even signed into. When I searched for Tunnelbear, and clicked on it, the wifi started working. Totally strange. I didn't even sign into the app or turn the VPN on.
