Ken Burns cropping not working in iMovie

When trying to crop and use the Ken Burns tool in iMovie, the whole program freezes and becomes very buggy. The resize arrows won't work and I can not move the start and end boxes. I have deleted preferences, deleted and redownloaded the program and even started up in Safe mode and restarted. Still no solution. If there is a bug in the program, when will you fix this Apple?

Hi,

Try these two diagnostic procedures:

Opening iMovie in a new user account

Create a new user account from System Preferences/Users and Groups and try to open and use iMovie in the new account. You can use the Guest account on your Mac for this purpose.

Change Users & Groups settings on Mac - Apple Support

New Project

Try copying your media into a newly created project and see if that cures the problem. To do that, do an Edit/Select All, Edit/Copy, of the media in your project and then Edit/Paste it into the newly created project. Or, you can simply create a new project and import media into it as you would with any other project.
