How can I change my Apple Music region without cancelling subscription?

I keep noticing more and more songs on Apple Music are greyed out and I get the message "this song is not available in your region....." I came here to Apple support and followed the region changing instructions, but they seem to be a little different then what I encounter. After I get to "COUNTY/REGION" tab it already says United States next to it, this is correct. And once I click on it then I am redirected to another prompt which says "you must first cancel your apple music subscription to change stores"

Does anyone know what to do or what happened to my settings to cause this issue? I just want to hear some songs.

Its entirely possible some songs are not available in the US. not everything is available in the US. What songs aren't available exactly? Some artists may not make their music available in the US catalog for varying reasons. There is nothing specifically wrong or abnormal with this.

You cannot change regions without cancelling all active subscriptions first. That is a requirement, you cannot bypass. But if its already set to the US, then you don't need to change it, unless you want to set it to a different country than the US.
