Urgent Request for Support: Issue After Software Update on My MacBook
I am writing to express my deep disappointment with Apple, a brand I have trusted and been loyal to for many years. I currently own several Apple products, including an iPad, an Apple Watch, and AirPods. I've always believed in the quality of Apple’s products and the company’s commitment to both hardware and software excellence. However, my recent experience has seriously shaken that trust.
I purchased my MacBook about two years ago, using it exclusively for academic purposes. Recently, I followed a notification to update the system software, only to encounter a serious issue: my computer stopped functioning immediately after the update. Naturally, I took my MacBook to an Apple Store to seek a solution.
Unfortunately, this wasn't my first visit to this store, and once again, the service left much to be desired. I've repeatedly encountered staff who seem unprepared to handle repairs but are very eager and attentive when it comes to selling new products. I was particularly shocked by the response I received this time: I was told that the issue was my responsibility and that nothing could be done, aside from offering me a new MacBook, with various payment plans, as if this was the only viable solution.
The repair estimate was approximately CAD 850, nearly the cost of a new MacBook. I find this cost unacceptable, especially considering that the problem was caused by a fault in the software update provided by Apple. Moreover, at no point was I offered any discount or alternative to mitigate the financial burden of this situation.
Now, I am left without a functioning laptop, severely impacting my studies. As a loyal Apple customer and someone who has always believed in the excellence of your products and services, I am extremely disappointed with how this situation has been handled.
I would like to request an immediate solution to this problem, preferably with full coverage of the repair costs or, alternatively, a replacement of the device. Apple has always been known for its commitment to quality and customer satisfaction, and I trust that this situation can be resolved in a fair and efficient manner.
