Mac Pro 2019 Charging Issues After Sonoma 14.6

I connected my mac to the charger but it did not start charging. Sometimes It starts the charging but sometimes it still shows the sign to the connect the charger while the charger is connected already.

Mac Pro is a desktop computer(?)

If you mean to say MacBook Pro—

Is this an old issue, new issue...?

Not sure exactly what you are seeing, easy enough to post a screen shot...

The battery health management software (BHM) can put on hold your charging this is the new normal, 80% is common yes, however this is not static it is dynamic…BHM interpolates your usage pattern, and can hold it at 92% 88% 84% 76% 72% etc. however the complex algorithm deems best for long term health. It can actually improve your % Battery Health over time. It is not necessarily a linear downhill progression .

The rule of thumb—if you are near the mains leave it plugged in, if you need the portability then run on the battery only—this is how you help optimize your battery charging and extend the working life of your battery by reducing the cycle count.

That blocky device that plugs into the wall is the POWER ADAPTER. I am not trying to be a jerk about terminology, what these boxes do and how they do it is essential for understanding how they all work together.

The CHARGER is inside the MacBook Pro, and is completely under program control. Your Mac accepts some power when needs to run, and accepts more power when intends to charge its internal battery. A power source like the Power Adapter can not 'force itself' on your MacBook Pro. Only the algorithms inside your Mac can decide when is a good time to charge the battery.

On a MacBook Pro 2019 Intel system, the System Management Controller (SMC) runs stuff like fan speeds, clock rates, sleeping, waking, and charging. if it gets confused, an SMC reset is supposed to set it straight.

Like Leroy, I am confused by "I connected my mac to the charger but it did not start charging."

The Mac Pro is a big, expensive professional workstation desktop computer that does not have a rechargeable battery. Sounds like you may have a Macbook Pro notebook computer instead. Apple has a knack for coming up with too-similar model names.
