iCloud Advanced Data Protection issues : can't turn off or access web data

iPhone 11 iOS 17.6

macOS Ventura 13.6.8

Mobile data, WiFi, NO VPN + low power mode is off

Issue persists since 3-4 weeks.

It's unusual that I am unable to disable iCloud Data Protection and access my iCloud data through any browser, including on my iOS device. This issue persists even after granting access on my trusted devices when prompted to allow or deny. Tried on my both Mac Safari and Win Edge browser but issue remains.

When trying to turn off on iOS or MacOS > Apple ID > iCloud > ADP > the error is ''There was a problem, try again''.

When trying to access on iCloud Web after granting access on trusted Mac or iOS the error is ''Getting access.... and then - Your device has not given access to display. Check that is on and connected to the internet''.

Should we be worried?

Unfortunately Im not going to be of help as I have the exact same issue trying to resolve another issue. It started off when I noticed that "shortcuts" I edited didn't sync to my watch. I then found out the app wasn't syncing to the cloud at all. I stupidly switched off the backup for the shortcuts app in iCloud. My thinking was there must be a file/folder I need to delete on the iCloud as it's now never going to sync if there's a mismatch. I wanted to have a look to see how much access to the file structure I have by logging into the web. I found that the dreaded advanced data protection limits the access to this. Boom I get the same message that advanced data protection cannot be turned off. I'm not that technical but I suspect there will be some way apple confirm Im in the same location when I turned it on. How it does this I'd be interested to know. I don't have the same router that I had when I turned the feature on many moons ago so it's not same MAC or wan IP as I have a new cable modem. I factory reset the phone and have access to most data so I must have a working decryption key somewhere stored on this brick. I'm hoping that there is a hold/wait before it can be deactivated as I've changed key items such as iCloud password and recovery key but the message should reflect this like Google's FRP. If as anyone gets somewhere with this please update us.

On none of my posts says can’t turn on. It says turn off. You haven’t even checked screen shot and read the post properly mate

Unless you decide to participate in the process, no one is going to be able to help you. Asking you clarifying questions and giving you advice on the best way to get help is not "bullying".

But as you don't appear to want help and are being rude, I'm done.

Best of luck.
