How do I update software on my iPhone 6 Plus?

Please go to Settings > General > Software Updates. If you don't see anything here, you don't have to update it. Remember that iPhone 6 Plus is no longer supported so it doesn't receive newest updates.

Your tag line suggests you own an iPhone 6 Plus, on iOS 12. iOS 12 is the end of line for your now ancient, 10 year old iPhone. I'm sure you do need higher level iOS versions, for multiple apps, but your phone is too old, and lacks the hardware required to update past iOS 12. The last.....and final.....update for the iPhone 6 Plus was iOS 12.5.7 in January 2023, about a year and half ago.

Surely, you already have this installed on your phone.

You will need an iPhone 8 if you want to run iOS 16

You will need an iPhone XR or higher model if you want to run iOS 17 or iOS 18 when it is available.
