Will Apple Watch pedometer still count steps if in pocket or on a clip instead of wrist?

In my experience the accuracy is off if the watch isn’t worn correctly on the wrist. However, some users claim it works fine worn as a pendent or on their ankle. You probably have to experiment and see if it works for your needs.
