I’m stuck in windows mode on my Mac and can’t get back

So I was checking out some of the features when I found a video on how to get windows on Mac and I did it now I’m stuck in windows mode and I’m not able to go back to Mac

If you used Boot Camp Assistant to install Windows, use Boot Camp Assistant again to uninstall Windows.

If you just want to boot into either operating system: Restart your Mac in macOS or Windows - Apple Support

If you used Boot Camp Assistant to install Windows, use Boot Camp Assistant again to uninstall Windows.

If you just want to boot into either operating system: Restart your Mac in macOS or Windows - Apple Support

Please describe the steps you used to "get windows on Mac."

I'm guessing your response to BobTheFisherman means you didn't use BOOTCAMP. If you didn't, then you will have to erase your Mac and reinstall macOS.

If you did use BOOTCAMP, you should be able to use BOOTCAMP assistant to get back to macOS.

You can also hold down the Option key when you restart your Mac. If there is still a macOS installation, you can select that to boot.

Please post a picture where it mentions "an encrypted file". I've never seen that specific message.


What is the exact model of your Mac and version of macOS? Since you cannot boot into macOS, you can get the exact model by entering the system serial number on the check coverage page here (please don't post the serial number on the forum since it is considered personal information):
