Network Settings (suddenly) preventing content from loading privately and web pages are blank on phone

For no reason I can discern, my emails on MacBook and iPhone are not loading content until I tell it to. This is new. At the same time, my tabs on iPhone in Safari open as blank white pages, with -- apparently -- no content loading. Things like Wordle page, just any random web pages I had visited but not cleared from my tabs, as well as new pages I try to open. The web address is visible in the bar, but the content is an empty white page. Not even the little blue question mark boxes. I'm attaching a screen grab of just one example of my iPhone screen with the URL at the bottom and nothing on the page. They all look like this.

What gives?
