How to set a fixed volume on my HomePod so that it never changes?

I know this question has been asked in the past, but I have not seen anything recent in the last couple of years. From all of my research, I have not been able to find any way to set a fixed volume on my HomePod so that it never changes. I’ve even tried setting up an automation to set the volume level, and nothing works, every time I tell it to play some music, the volume is at maybe 30-40%. I want it at 100% always, the o ly time it should ever change is if I change it manually. Does anyone have any idea if Apple ever plans to implement such a basic function into their HomePods? I’m about ready to ditch it for a traditional Bluetooth speaker because it’s so annoying.

It seems from your description that the HomePod volume is being reset to a particular value, perhaps at the start of every day? One article I found on the web suggested this happened every day, at midnight.

You could set an automation to have it adjusted to a volume percentage of your choice every day - which you have indicated is 100%. I know you said you had tried an automation, but was it for each day, or some other re-occurance?

It's not what you are after (leaving a volume at a setting and expecting it to remain at that setting) but it ought to provide you with the result you want.

Create a new automation in the Home app for a time of day, select a time (perhaps the middle of the night) then touch on Next.
Choose your HomePod, touch on Next.
Under the Media category touch on Audio, then Play Audio, then Set Custom Volume. Move the resulting slider to maximum.

Then go back and confirm when requested.

And don't forget to follow the advice of Vancouver22 and send Apple some feedback.

I set up automations they don’t do anything to the volume. I’ve also sent recommendations to Apple with no response. It’s incredibly frustrating how such a basic feature is purposely omitted from their HomePods.
