Unable to play any videos on my iPhone 10

Hello! I have had this problem for a while now, but all I did before was restart my phone and it worked. All of a sudden even if I do restart my phone the videos still don’t work! I know it’s not an internet issue because my phone won’t play videos on my camera roll and my phone is at the latest update for iPhone 10 at the moment (16.7.8). Plus I have 15 gb of free space so it can’t be a storage issue. I can’t play any type of videos including tiktok, instagram, camera roll, YouTube and even music on Spotify! It only works if I have my headphones plugged in, and sometimes that doesn’t even work. Also I don’t know if this is unrelated but my phone sometimes restarts for no reason in my pocket. And whenever I play a video my volume stops to work if I’m on it. If someone can help me with this issue it would be deeply appreciated!

I had this exact issue and found a solution that resolved the issue for me. I had a VPN and was informed by a tech at the Apple store that VPNs can cause all sorts of issues on iPhone. If you have a VPN, whether it is on or off, it may need to be removed to return your phone to normal function. Here is what I did:

I started by turning my VPN off. I don’t know if this matters. Then,

1. Go to Settings —> General —> VPN & Device Management

2. Click the info icon to the right of your VPN and click to delete the VPN

3. Restart your iPhone

That should solve the issue. Hope this helps anyone else who comes across this issue and sees this post. I’ll comment this advice in other similar posts as well.
