Highlighting the current slide in Keynote in the "view sidebar" panel

I edit a new 20+ slide presentation frequently. I have to jump amongst slides. However, I can't easily spot the slide I'm working on in the sidebar. It only has the faintest background. I've explored everywhere. And it's the same in light or dark mode. Is there a menu item somewhere for this?

have you tried expanding the sidebar?

Position the cursor on the border between the thumbnail sidebar and the main slide display, then scroll horizontally to expand/contract the sidebar. The wider the sidebar, the larger the thumbnails, which should make it easier to identify the slide you want.

I'm not aware of any other way to change how the sidebar displays slides.
