iMovie - how to save editable versions of project

I used iMovie to create a holiday movie with photos and music clips. Started by clicking on File > Open Library > New and naming project as 'Holiday 24'. Completed the movie and, I believe, iMovie saves the project automatically.

Now I wish to replace one of the three music clip and leave the photos and the other remaining music clips unchanged.

How do I do that without having the create another "new" project and starting from scratch?

At the end, aim is to have 2 editable versions - "Holiday 24" and Holiday 24 v1", that I can open.

Hi,

Create a duplicate of your iMovie project and make your new edits on the duplicate. Then you will have two projects: your original Holiday 24 v1, and the new Holiday 24 with the changes, each of which you can open and edit.

To make a duplicate of your project go the the projects browser screen (where your projects are displayed as icons) and move your cursor over the icon of the project that you wish to duplicate. A little circle with dots in it will appear to the right of the title. Click on the circle and a drop down menu will appear containing "Duplicate Project" as an option. Click on Duplicate Project and you will create a duplicate of the project that will appear as a separate icon in the project browser along with the original project icon. You can play and edit both of them. independently of each other.
