Motion refusing to export transparent background.

Hello all,

I'm having a little trouble with an issue that's becoming a tad confusing to me.

I've been prepping some graphics for TV and Broadcast, Lower Thirds and Info Graphics. The Lower Thirds have, without any trouble, exported with a transparent background. However, using the same settings as the Lower Thirds, my Info Graphics are having a little trouble.

I've scoured the internet, and all I've really seen is I should be using ProRes 4444? But that's not even working.

My background in the project properties is set to Transparent, I've tried exporting with Colour + Alpha (as I did with Lower Thirds), I've also tried switching the viewer's channel to Transparent, but still not having any luck.

Something you should know about the project, I am working with 3D text, but that's never been an issue in the past? I'm also editing with DaVinci Resolve, but the Lower Third backgrounds are how they should be in timeline.

Hope someone out there can help!

Have a great day,

Nathan

What are your project Background Settings?

You DO need ProRes 4444 to export transparency, but the background needs to be set for transparent in order to work. [The other two options are Solid and Environment... which are both non-transparent.]

Side note: IF you use Final Cut Pro - it is recommended that you simply create a template and NOT export ProRes 4444 since a template is a rather simple text file and PR4x4 files are HUGE.

I've been doing this too.

My Background settings are Transparent, the Channel Settings on export are Colour + Alpha, and even using the 4444 I still get a black background in DaVinci Resolve.

When I exported my Lower 3rds, I didn't use 4444 and I still got a transparent background in DaVinci Resolve.

In the end I adjusted my idea of what I wanted the video to do, as I need the file ready for tomorrow.

Thank you for your help though!
