Troubleshooting Greyed-Out Files:

If PDF Downloads Are Greyed Out:

A. Open PDF Documents with Preview:

Seems you are looking to open this with an inapplicable app that is not able to read PFD documents. So, right-click (or use two fingers on your trackpad) on these and select: Snd select: Preview (Default).

B. Making Preview the Default Item for PDF Documents:

If (Default) is not seen at the end of Preview, then make it the default app to open PDF documents, and that would rid of this problem. Elsewise, you'd have to right-click each time.

1. Go Here: Choose an app to open a file on Mac - Apple Support
2. Scroll to: Permanently change the app used to open all files of a particular type

Ridding of these:

Were these on an external storage drive? If so, you need to plug it back in and then perform the deletion. The are PDF documents. And they are pending the deletion.

So, what is the app you are using here? Seems you are trying to upload something, and are seeing a download history, of sorts.
