Mac Mini running hot - SIMPLE FIX

I've been having this problem on a 2018 Mac Mini for awhile and discovered a fairly easy fix. After doing this it's been running normal and the case feels cool, to barely warm, to the touch! Like it should.

So the issue is the fan inside can collect dust and you can carefully vacuum it out.

I didn't need a new fan, nor did I need installing cooling fan control apps. It should work as it's designed.

Mine was pretty gunked up and once vacuumed out, viola.

There are some YouTube tutorials on how to properly open up the Mac and get to the fan. I went the extra step and removed the fan and also vacuumed the exhaust vent right under it, and the underside of the fan. The exhaust port probably isn't necessary for most people to clean, and you'll need to remove 3 screws of the fan to get there. If you're industrious, give it a whirl otherwise just vacuum the top exposed part of the fan at the minimum. One other thing, I highly recommend using a magnetic T6 security bit when removing these screws with your Mac unplugged. The magnetic bit will keep you from dropping screws into the computer and not being able to reach them.

Good luck, my Mac is literally night and day better.
