This is a Solution to a problem I had with the Kensington Trackball Wireless Mouse

I have had almost continuous problems getting Bluetooth on an iMac M1-M3 to recognize my Kensington Trackball Wireless Mouse after initial boot of my iMac. Only after a 5-second long "wiggling" of the Cursor did the Cursor "unfreeze" from the top-left corner of the screen. After this, everything worked great .. but only after this initial "wiggling".

The solution .. when I initially paired this Trackball Mouse a long time ago, I disconnected the Apple installed wireless mouse that came with the iMac ... but I left it active even though it was disconnected.

When I selected "Forget this Device" for the Apple Mouse, the necessity for the above "wiggling" and the inherent 5-second delay **disappeared** .. now, after a fresh boot of my iMac the Kensington TrackBall Cursor is immediately moveable.

Remember what I said awhile back that I "Forgot" prior mouse software and that it gave me some temporary relief.

Well .. this time I dragged out my Apple wireless mouse, turned it on and got it connected.

Then, I "Forgot" the Kensington, leaving me for the moment with the Apple wireless - which I would prefer IF it had a capability to click on a specific portion of the Apple Mouse to simulate "Click and Hold" so I could that feature to drag stuff without having to hold while I dragged said object.

Anyway, I then put the Kensington into discoverable mode and the Mac found it, leaving me with TWO Mouses/Mice that moved the same cursor.

Then, I "Forgot" the Apple Mouse, leaving me with just the Kensington.

Restarted the Mac and the **** Kensington was recognized as quickly as the Aoole wireless keyboard.

My joy was short lived.

Have emailed Kensington Support for a 2nd time.

I told them point blank I was not going to return the Trackball. Instead I asked them to send me a link to download a Mac friendly version of a firmware updater.

They finally replied.

They said I. should clean the contacts .. like i am too dumb to not clean them.

Then they said try their TrackBall with another desktop .. like i am rich enough to afford a 2nd computer .. or if I were moneybags that I am too dumb to try that.
