No Audio into Garageband

Garageband just stopped getting audio from my Rodecaster Pro since latest update. i think it's a mac issue.. seems like audacity does not receive audio too.. any ideas would be appreciated. Sonoma 14.5 on M1 iMac

GarageBand stuck on open screen saying it’s searching audio plugins for updates I just bought a 2017 IMac and installed GarageBand on it yesterday. It worked fine yesterday. GarageBand not picking up audio All of a sudden GarageBand won’t pick up any audio. In the mac settings it will pick up both my usb mic and the internal mic fine however, in GarageBand it won’t pick up either. It was picking up both last week and working fine but it’s suddenly stopped today. I use it regularly and never had a problem before. I have tried/checked: restarting both the MacBook and garageband unplugging - re plugging in the mic etc. The privacy settings are correct the input settings are correct The latest versions are running Any help/insight would be great thanks!

Low/Bad audio from guitar though USB interface in GarageBand In GarageBand my guitar coming from a usb audio interface is very low (can barely hear it) and sounds like it's clipping or distored when I play hard and I'm monitoring the signal, but I can still barely hear it. If I record it sounds the same. -All the volumes are up and I've tested at multiple levels. -I've tried different outputs and they all sound the same -I've tried 2 different USB audio interfaces (M-Audio 192|8 and Behringer Xenyx Q1202USB) and the both do the same. -I've tried it in Audacity I can record fine. It sounds like it should, but Audacity won't let me monitor as I play that I can find, which is my goal. It seems as if my new Mac mini has the appropriate drivers installed since it works in audacity. Is there something in GarageBand that could be causing this that y'all know about? Thanks! BassBikerND

Two things to try:

Make sure your audio programs have access in the privacy settings:

Make sure the Mic mode is set to wide bandwith:

I updated to 14.5 and now none of my DAW's have audio playing. They did for a few days and then during a session of GarageBand, the audio stopped when I hit play after a very brief play stop. No sound in Ableton either. Audio fine through internet and Apple Music. Check all the settings. Tries several sessions and two different speaker sets.
