Convert dvdproj to use in imovie
I can't find an app or anything to open and use an old .dvdproj file (our 25 year old wedding video) - any advice out there?
MacBook Air, macOS 14.5

Do you have the original wedding DVD and does your Mac have a DVD drive?
If so, download Handbrake and rip your DVD to an .mp4 file.
There are a number of USB DVD player/burners on Amazon and eBay should your Mac not have a DVD burner.
If you have the .dvdproj file(s) and they were 'archived' you may be able to recover the video from within it. (However, if the .dvdproj was not originally set to archived state this may not work ... but it's worth a try.)
Control-click the .dvdproj file in the Finder and select "Show package contents." This will open another Finder window showing all the folders & files inside the .dvdproj. Navigate to Contents > Resources > Assets > av. You should find one or more Quicktime .mov files there that contain your video. You can then copy them out of the .dvdproj package to any folder on your Mac.
Yes we do we'll give that a go thank you so much :)
The .mp4 file produced by Handbrake (using the default settings) should be ideal for re-editing in iMovie.
