Since upgrading to iOS 17.5, the timer feature in the iPhone clock lacks the STOP and REPEAT icons at the top of a running or completed timer. The only way to stop the beeping is the right side button, which logs me out of my iPhone 15 Pro.
Is this a new feature or a new bug? I miss the old controls.

I may have stumbled upon the cause of the disappearing STOP and REPEAT icons at the top left of the Clock's Timer Feature.
If you mistakenly start a second timer while another timer is still running, you cannot turn off the first one when it rings its completion tone because the STOP and REPEAT icons have disappeared.
The only way to stop the chime is to kill the clock app, however, the timer icon still displays in the Dynamic Island on the Home screen. And if you re-open the clock app and start a new timer, when it completes, no STOP or REPEAT options will appear.
The only fix I have found is to kill the clock app and then power-restart the phone.
Seems to be random. My timer had no repeat nor stop icons either. the only way i could stop the timer alarm was to lock it, unlock with face id, and then hit the stop button that graciously appeared.
Since reading your post, my timer screen now has repeat and stop icons top left. i’m truly amazed that the timer software developer could put code in the app to determine when i’ve read your post! AI is popping up everywhere.
After several reboots of my phone, the STOP and REPEAT icons returned in the timer feature of the Clock app. Don't have a clue what happened.
