Apple configurator

Hi All,

Here, I'm trying to add Mac devices to ABM. Unfortunately, Apple Configurator on my iPhone is not detecting the MacBook Air device.

My iPhone is running on the iOS 17.4.1 version, and the MacBook Air is running on MacOS 12 (monterey with the latest updated version).

I'm wondering why the device is not detecting.

Can you help me? Has anyone experienced the same scenario?

Thanks for your help!

To use Apple Configurator, you must comply with these conditions.

• The Mac must have a T2 controller chip or newer. This basically means laptops from 2018 and newer. If you are trying to add units older than 2018s, they are not eligible for side loading.

• The device must be reset to factory as the capture can only occur when Setup Assistant is visible.

For a quick overview, see this Apple Kbase article.

Also, a tip. To save a step, make sure you select your specific MDM in Apple Configurator. This will add the devices both to ABM but also assign them to your MDM. This will save you the step of logging into ABM and reassigning to your MDM.
