Problem with duckduckgo on iphone 17.4.1

Nevermind- problem solved. But has anyone else had this problem:

I clicked on the address bar on duckduckgo and some site I had never seen before popped up. Before I could even see what the site was, it started my phone repeatedly and very quickly dialing and redialing the number.

I think it might have been a microsoft number, maybe a help phone number. A woman answered and asked me what my question was or something like that. I said I dialed that number accidentally and my phone could not disconnect from the call. The woman disconnected the call, and I thought that would be the end of the problem.

But when I opened duckduckgo again it opened to that same website, and again my phone immediately started redialing that number. The only way i could stop this from happening again was to cut off my wifi and cell service for several minutes. When I restarted wifi and cell service and opened duckduckgo, I immediately pressed the Burn icon several times to delete the website and any cookies it may have put on my phone.

Duckduckgo seems to be working right again. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that this never happens again.

I thought somehow I had downloaded a virus, however unlikely, and I have no idea how or why it started.

Has anyone else seen something like this or know what happened to start this sequence of repeated calling?
