Apple Music not playing songs on cellular data

apple music not playing on cellular data. Get the error mesage of request time out or resource unavailable. The radio stations in the app plays fine. The artwork and lyrics shows up fine for the songs. Started noticing the issue on iOS 17.4.1


Things I have tried to remedy the issue

  • Hard restart my device
  • reset my network settings
  • signed out of media and purchase and log back in
  • sign out of iPhone and sign back in
  • uninstall and reinstall Apple Music

all these options were on for me and I am having the same issue

Hey! How are you doing? I see that you are having some issues with Apple Music not working with cellular data. Here is a quick guide on how you can fix this:


  • If you can use Apple Music over Wi-Fi but not via mobile data, you might have blocked the Music app from accessing cellular data. To fix this:
  1. Open the iPhone Settings app, scroll down, and tap Music.
  2. From here, enable the switch for Cellular Data.
  3. Next, scroll down and allow Download over Cellular if you want to save Apple Music songs offline using mobile data.
