Basically, best way to work with windows software on a MAC. Should I install a "windows OS" or something simpler to open a edit cd3 files?

If you have a compatible Intel Mac, you can use Boot Camp Assistant - Install Windows 10 with Boot Camp - Apple Support
Otherwise, you'll have to use a virtualization software such as Parallels.
Thanks much Bubba- Sounds like a plan .. I'll do the "Install windows" plan . but must look into getting a key for that...
