IMAC Ventura 13.4 Suddenly the X on the left side of a Safari tab address has changed to a +
In other words I can't close a tab I can only add it to my reading list. I don't use reading lists. I just want to manually close tabs when I have finished with that site. What happened? Can I fix it? Am I obliged to use Chrome instead? I can't add a screenshot because the + only appears when I hover over the address bar.

what if you right click on the tab?
if it's pinned then I don't think it shows the X
OK now I see. Need to have more than 1 tab open. Why didn't I notice this for the last ten Years?
Now I get it. R clicking works if more than 1 tab is in use.
Can't close Safari Tab.
