I just realized my text tone is gone, since today. It was the cricket text tone. I know it’s there as a ringtone but I don’t want it as a ringtone. Why would you take crickets out of text tones? Seriously, why…. What was your reasoning? We want it back. Take out some other one out. There’s a few annoying ones in there’s

We are ALL users here on this user to user only forum. So we didn't take anything away. When Apple rolled out iOS 17 however, they did make changes to some of the available tones and you are correct that the Cricket tone is now reserved for phone calls and isn't available for text messages. You can download a Text Tone from the tone store in iTunes or choose another option from the many free options. But you can't have the same tone you had before iOS 17.
Don't shoot the messenger, or ask why. Again, we are users here just like you and Apple doesn't actively participate in this forum. We don't know why Apple does anything, so we can't speak for them.
