Esim functional, still status shown as “no Sim”

I have recently purchased a new iPhone 15 and I installed an airtel eSIM on the same. Even though the sim is functional- I am able to make calls, use mobile data i still see the status in control centre as “no sim”. I don’t have a physical sim on the device.

some further details -

a. 6 april afternoon - tried installing esim from physical sim. Process successfully completed but control centre shows “no sim”. Visited carrier office and they suggested me to take a duplicate physical sim and retry later.

b. 6 april night - retried esim activation, but same result

c. 7 april - contacted apple support. Tried the usual debugs (reset network settings , airplane mode, restart) but didnt work. Support team ran remote diagnostics but found nothing.

d. 8 april - I saw an sms received on the eSIM. Till now i was under the impression that eSIM wasn’t working as control centre showed no sim. But to my surprise, mobile data and calls are working fine.

Hi,

I got this resolved after raising another eSIM request with the carrier, Airtel. Once the request was submitted, I automatically received the setup page and completed the setup while connected to WiFi.

After activation, the signal range appeared, and the other eSIM setup remained intact.

Everything looks fine now, so I’m not making any further changes!

I have the same issue. I tried using both a physical SIM and an eSIM together on my phone. The physical SIM shows coverage, but although the eSIM is working, it does not display coverage. It's as if the eSIM cannot show coverage or the provider name, though everything else functions correctly.

I am unable to identify whether this is an issue with the eSIM or the phone, which is causing a lot of confusion. If you have a solution, please let me know.

It's quite annoying!
