is it possible install ms office in an external drive

It is probably Microsoft installer preventing the install. They want to make sure you are installing it on a single computer.

Unfortunately, there’s no good fix for an internal storage device that’s lacking sufficient capacity for current requirements.

Looking at my original replies, that is what I was getting at --registering the license --not registry errors found in MS Windows.
