iMovie split screen zoom effect

I am presenting with a slide show. I am putting the image of the slides in a "Picture in a picture." The problem is that iMovie automatically starts zooming in to the slide which moves some of the content out of the frame. Is there a way to turn this off? I am importing each slide into iMovie as a png file. I tried side by side and slide content was outside the frame. I was not able to fix that problem with adjusting the image size.

Click on the overlay to select it. Click on the crop icon in the tool bar in the upper right of your screen. In the crop controls that appear, click on the “Fit” option. That will remove the zoom.

To turn off the Ken Burns zoom feature for future projects, click on iMovie/iMovie Preferences. In the Preferences box that appears, select “Fit”.
