Word seems to give me much more grief than it used to do years ago. Too many bells and whistles now. Portions of my keyboard will go dead while composing a piece. Today, it is my space bar. Other times, the view jumps erratically up and down as I type, obscuring the view of my current text. All in all, I am considering going back to an electric typewriter.

What MacOS version are you using? In 13 Ventura and 14 Sonoma, you should definitely have System Settings and the rest.

I saw an earlier post that suggested I go to Settings > Accessibility > Keyboard and turn off full keyboard access, but I don't find that on my version. I have 'Preferences' and 'Accessibility', but nothing like full keyboard access.
Thanks. I can find that window and I turned off "Full Keyboard Access". I hope that will solve the problem.
