How to access and restore time capsule backup on Mac

Hi, I need to restore a backup from my Time Capsule. When I click con command R and prompted to install the backup, the Mac sees the Time Capsule's backup but can't access it. It offers the possibility to provide the smb address, but I have not been able to find it.

Any idea on how to restore the backup? I'm sure my Time Capsule's disk is not corrupted, it's all in there, I just can't access it/use it.

Thank you for any help.

ok first plug Time Machine capsule to a new apple computer or a recently eased computer with a new os

  • go through the set up process
  • during the setup process there is a page where it'll ask you if you wanted to transfer apps or data

there you select time machine back and follow the prompts to fully restore the desired backup
