.mov is it an apple native format and then why can't it show in quick look. We don't want to change the format to mp4, which is a waist of time we only want .mov tot be seen in quick look. Sometimes it does, sometimes it does not.This should not be a «buy a new computer» solution! Should it?

.mov (and .mp4, .m4v etc) is just a wrapper for the video and audio codecs inside it. Some 3rd party audio video and codecs are incompatible with QuickTime. The best apps to inspect such codecs is to either MediaInfo or Invisor.
Sometimes a detour to safe-boot might kick QuickLook into action.
