Can music be transferred from iTunes to Android?

I have iTunes for Windows on my PC, which I sync to my iPhone whenever I add any new songs to my iTunes library. I also have an older Android phone which works fine but I'm not using it for anything.

With over 8,000 songs in my iTunes library, I want to add another backup besides the cloud (and my iPhone). So I was wondering: Instead of buying a flash drive to serve this purpose, is there a way I can sync my iTunes library on my PC to my Android phone? If yes, what are the steps to accomplish this?

Thank you!

The simplest method is to copy (note, copy - not move) the music files from the folders on your Windows PC to your Android phone. All your music should be in sub-folders within your Music folder. One disadvantage of this is that you need to keep updating your backup each time you add more music to your iTunes Library

Alternatively, Media Monkey can manage adding music to an Android phone in much the same way as iTunes manages Apple products.

A couple of things to note:

    • using Media Monkey, if you change certain tags in a song, it may affect what happens in iTunes since both programmes will be working with the same file
    • it's possible to set Media Monkey to automatically find music added to iTunes and add it to Media Monkey as well. How this happens is that each time Media Monkey is started up it checks the folders you've nominated for new files. So set Media Monkey to watch the folders that you add music to
