How to recover space after deleting bootcamp partition on MacBook Pro

I deleted my bootcamp partition (via bootcamp assistant) however, I am unable to recover that space.

I tried this, however it gives an error message when I try to delete the free space.

Operation failed because corruption was found in the startup container disk1 or one of its volumes. Run First Aid from Recovery to repair it, then try again. Click Done to continue.

I can't run a First Aid however because I can't see the disk in Disk Utility ;(

Can someone help me?
