Area brackets when dialing phone number on iPhone

I have an iPhone 13 running iOS17.3.1.

When dialling a number, the screen re-organises the numbers. In the past, when dialling a UK mobile number, it displays the following:

07787 ### ###

Now, it displays the following:

0 (778) 7## ## ##

Calls can still be made but it's just difficult to read and annoying.

Is there a fix somewhere for this? It has only occurred recently. . .
