Motion 5.7: Can not see bezier points, shape transform controls, rulers and more

I haven't used motion in a few months, but I'm trying to create a custom shape and I have no way to click on and edit bezier points, even though I have selected the edit points tool.

I also can't rotate, resize, or distort with on-screen controls because there aren't any.

And even though I have rulers checked to show, they do not show, and I can't drag a guide.

What's going on here?
