iMessage not syncing on Mac

I have signed in and out. "Enable messages in iCloud" is checked. When I click "Sync now" the button turns grey and stays grey. I have also tried restarting my Mac.

MacBook Air, macOS 14.4

In my 10+ years of Mac ownership, I’ve literally never had a problem like this until updating to macOS 14.4

I’m sure Apple has laid off their QA team. One mess after the next with their software.

Signing out and back in of the messages app fixes nothing.

I did nothing overnight and today syncing is working. No idea what changed. I also have never had an issue like this before 14.4 and I have had Macs since forever.

Constantly having this issue as well with iMessage not syncing when waking up my laptop.
