Siri is an irritating half-wit!

Someone bought me a couple of Phillips Hue lights for Christmas. I installed them, and bought a few more, for different places in the house that I wanted to control with my voice. But Siri is either deaf or dumb. I used to be able to turn lights on and off with a switch. Now I ask for the kitchen lights off and Siri turns the dining room lights off as well. I ask for the only smart light in the master bedroom to be turned off, which is called the Over Bed Light, and Siri runs through a list of every room in the house, even though the Over Bed Light is clearly marked in the app as belonging to the master bedroom. At other times Siri ignores me, despite having an Apple Watch, iPhone, iMac, two iPads, MacBook Pro and a Home Pod Mini dotted around the place, all listening out for the magic word. These kind of errors happen multiple times every day and I’m beginning to regret my investment, as the light switch never used to get me annoyed. Is there anything I can do to make Siri behave a little bit more intelligently?

The HomePods leave a lot to be desired and other than streaming Apple Music, they are not reliable. I will have short periods where my Shortcuts (involving 3rd party smart devices/apps) triggered by Siri through the HomePod work without issue, but 85% of the time I need to repeat the command 3-4 times before it works. Also, quite frequently, an Shortcut which previously worked stops functioning completely requiring me to recreate it. The latest is that if I ask her to run a few of my Shortcuts (e.g., turn living room lights on), nothing happens, but if I trigger it through the app or homescreen shortcut it works. And I am tired of having to ask her to speak louder EVERY day
